7 Ways To Get Rid Of Those Henna Tattoos!

The main advantage of getting Henna tattoos is that you can remove them as and when you please to replace them with the newest tattoo designs available. Also, since there is no limit on the number of times you can tattoo patterns on your skin, henna gives you the freedom to experiment with designs. As it stands, Henna tattoos fade within 2-3 weeks of the application and the time period depends upon the environmental factors, intensity of application, skin type and the area of the body where the tattoo was applied. Removing a Henna tattoo is generally not needed because it normally fades in 2-3 weeks. However, should you need to remove the tattoos earlier, here are 7 tips to help you out.

1. Exfoliating creams are an inexpensive way to attempt to remove henna tattoos – you have to be cautious though. And do remember that you should be gentle because it is your skin underneath that tattoo!

2. Natural (baby) oil over the tattoo area along with a wash can also help.

3. If you have a capricious mind, avoid exposing your skin to the henna dye for too long – this will prevent the dye from seeping into the skin strongly enough and hence make removal much easier.

4. Then, there’s the option of having a long hot bath, with salt and exfoliating mint added for good measure. And the best part is, even if it doesn’t work, you can still satisfy yourself with the fact that you had a long soak in a hot bath!

5. Various parts of the body have different levels of sensitivity. Hence, rough skin removers like pummice stone or sandpaper to clean the feet would be highly effective. However, these must not be used on any delicate parts of the body because they can be extremely harmful for the skin.

6. Tattoos are adversely affected by sweat production at the part where the tattoo exists. Hence, the gym is a viable solution.

7. If any artificial materials like clothes or leather get a henna stain, drain out the henna washing it off with soap and water without spreading it. Wet or even dry vacuum cleaners can be used to clean carpets with Henna on them.

An important consideration with henna tattoos is that skin is different with different people and it may just be that you have to wait for a henna tattoo to fade instead of attempting to clean it off. There’s a bright side though – it WILL fade – unlike the permanent tattoos which some friends of yours might have gotten and hence they cannot get rid of their tattoos once they get sick of them.
